Overview
Known for the Museum of Science and Industry, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House and the University of Chicago. Home to mostly University faculty and students, the area was settled in the 1850s.

There are many stores scattered around, but there are also some major shopping areas. There are book stores, clothing and shoe boutiques, music shops and more.

No shortage of dining here. There are pizzerias, Mexican, American, Asian, Thai and other chain restaurants all over.
Culture & Attractions
The historical area is also home to many religious institutions, such as the Rockefeller Chapel, built between 1925 and 1928. Such religious institutions are admired for their architectural beauty and design. The University, probably the most popular attraction in the area was incorporated in 1890, and is flooded with thousands of attending students. It has recently expanded its library collection and also houses a small contemporary art museum. The popular Museum of Science and Industry showcases special exhibits and teaches visitors of all ages in creative, enjoyable ways. Another attraction is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House. This architectural delight showcases Wright’s prairie style design and masonry, and was constructed in 1908.
