Overview

Considered as oasis away from the busy city of Chicago, Palos Park has hills, caves, creeks, and ponds. Forest preserves surround the area on three sides creating a haven for wildlife to thrive. The area was settled in the 1830s and was originally called Trenton, but the name was changed to Palos in 1850. The village was officially incorporated until 1914.

Shopping spots include just about anything; art stores, furniture places, spas, and more!

Check out the eateries from Italian to American to Mexican. 

Culture & Attractions

Have some winter fun at the Toboggan Hill. Or, do some horseback riding, fishing, or boating in the area. 

The Low Down

Do something outside! This suburb has lots of outdoor activities. Walk the forest preserve paths or have a picnic by a pond.
