Lake Zurich

Chicago | Northern Suburbs

Overview

The north suburban community of Lake Zurich was titled so in reference to a large lake in the area, and is a full-service community when it comes to all aspects of spending a nice day touring this unique part of the Chicago metro area. It's also won big media accolades as of late, being named as one of the best places to raise a family in multiple national magazines.

Shopping

There are at least three retail concentrations in Lake Zurich, including Deer Park Town Center, the Shops of Mildeer and Quentin Collections. Not far away is the historic downtown area of Long Grove, a haven for specialty shops and relaxed dining.

Dining/Nightlife

There are a number of nice dining options here, mostly situated along Rand Road. They range from fine-dining to casual, but service and availability are pretty positive across the board.

Culture & Attractions

Known for its wealth of park lands, pedestrial/bike trails, and natural scenery, in addition to its downtown options, Lake Zurich also has a range of other recreational opportunities.

The Low Down

Worth a day trip for those who've had enough of the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago, this area makes for a great day trip.
