This suburb is about 18 miles from Chicago and provides great entertainment, food, and shopping. Downtown Elmhurst is a small and cute area with many shops and restaurants to enjoy. Elmhurst has great places to eat such as bakeries, classic ice cream shops, and fancy restaurants with amazing cuisine. The many shops include clothing stores for men and women, jewelry stores, boutiques, antique stores, beauty and salon stores, art stores, and much more! There is a farmer's market summer through fall, museums, parks and lot's of shopping all in Elmhurst.

The downtown has many cute shops to enjoy on a leisure afternoon. Oakbrook Centre is your best bet if you're interested in mall shopping.

Elmhurst also has great attractions and museums to see including the Elmhurst Art Museum with many amazing exhibits, the Elmhurst Historical Museum, and the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, which is the art of cutting and polishing stone. Elmhurst is also the home of Elmhurst College, which is a private four year college with great programs.
