The John Hancock Obeservatory's attractions are what lead tourists to this destination. Attractions include tours that showcase the magnificence of the building's altitude with Sky Tours and the history of Chicago with History Avenue.
Skywalk
Watch your step as you walk through the open-air viewing area of the Hancock Observatory. Feel the wind blow through your hair and find out why Chicago is known as the Windy City. Hear and see the sights and sounds of Chicago 1,000 feet off the ground as you stroll around the Skywalk.
Sound Scope
Not only can you see the sights of Chicago, but now you can hear them, too. Don't call yourself crazy if you think you can hear the roar of the Chicago Bears fans cheering on their team at Soldier Field with the new Sound Scope talking telescopes. Choose from narration in English, Spanish, French or Japanese.
History Avenue
From Al Capone to the Great Chicago Fire, this wall features over 100 photos on 80-foot displays.
Sky Tour
This multimedia Sky Tour, narrated by Chicago's own David Schwimmer, features the sights and sounds of Chicago’s most famous attractions - including Wrigley Field, Navy Pier and the Lookingglass Theatre Company.
Daring Photo Ops
Experience what it feels like to be a construction workers high atop a skyscraper and take a picture that will be sure to surprise your friends back home. Lie across the beams of the building and look down to the streets of Chicago from 94 stories off the ground.
Chicago Windows
Easy-to-use technology allows you to tour over 80 different Chicago attractions. Using simple, touch-screen monitors, you can explore the Shedd Aquarium, The Sears Tower, The Field Museum and many more of Chicago's famous sites.
Beginning September 2008, guests will find a dedicated concierge desk at the Hancock Observatory. The concierge can book show and airline tickets, restaurant, hotel and rental car reservations – even a private jet.
