Woodfield Mall: Jewelry
Author: Danny McCullough
Diamonds are a girl's best friend, but they aren't your only option when you go to Woodfield Mall for jewelry. The extravagant mall is overflowing with more than 25 jewelry stores, each catering to a particular style: there's something for every occasion, from anniversaries to birthdays to engagements and maybe even random impulse buys.
Specialty jewelry stores are probably the real gem here with shops like Na Hoku, which specializes in Hawaiian-inspired pieces, or Anahi, an Ametrine-focused retailer. Offering wearable art is what these entities do best since their creative concepts aren't widely availabe, so a rare-find or eclectic taste can be satisfied easily.
Traditional jewelers abound with offerings for both men and women from national chains like Bailey, Banks and Biddle, Zales, and Kay jewelers giving you fare selection worthy of royalty. Chicago's oldest retailer also has a presence, with C.D. Peacock, a design-house that survived the Great Chicago Fire and catered to Mary Todd Lincoln, having a branch. Probably best known for their elite Chicago clientele, they feature time pieces from Tag Huer and Cartier, as well as works from Bixbie and Yvel.
Pearl lovers need look no further than Iridesse, whose various craftings with pearls also dip into men's territory, offering pearl cufflinks in addition to women's pearl necklaces, bracelets, brooches and clasps. Contemporary metalwork is covered by Whitehall & Co., Christian Bernard, and Movado, each offering timepieces and rings in modern styling.
It's not all rings and necklaces, though, as functional luxury items like writing implements can be found at Executive Essentials. In addition to Montblanc pens, they have desk accessories, stands, clocks, and all sorts of elegant desk-items that exude class in addition to utility. World-renowned crystal dealer Swarovski also has a storefront, offering gorgeous accessories like USB drives and headphones in addition to the classics of tableware and sculptures.
Brooch or wedding band, contemporary Hawaiian or old-fashioned Midwestern, your stone and precious metal dreams are amply achievable.
