Woodfield Mall: Dining
Author: Danny McCullough
With such a host of stores, it's easy to spend a considerable amount of time at Woodfield; luckily, hunger won't slow you down, as the dining selection is as delicious as it is varied. Woodfield has sit-down restaurants, cafes, dessert spots, and serve-yourself joints, whether you need a quick fix or a retail respite to slay your hunger.
To get off your feet for a shopping intermission, try one of the sit-down restaurants. If you're dressed "smart casual," consider Texas de Brazil, an upscale Brazilian steakhouse where diners pay a flat fee and servers roam the grounds with different cuts of cooked meat to pile on your plate. The meal is sure to re-energize and provide an uncommon serving style in slick surroundings. Those in the mood for a lighter or more casual meal should look into Todai Seafood Buffet, an American-ized Japanese restaurant that offers traditional sushi with fish, as well as a roll with chicken and hot entrees like sweet-and-sour pork and salmon teriyaki. American fare, of course, is provided by the three "R's." Not Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, but Red Robin, Ruby Tuesday, and the Rainforest Cafe. Each has its own specialty with Red Robin focusing on the classic burger, Ruby Tuesday providing a twist on the conventional fare offering (like a crab cake burger) or Rainforest Cafe's more theme-centric approach with their jungle paraphernalia and "Sparkling Volcano Dessert."
The quick-in-and-out spots here are no less appetizing, with classic root-beer vendor A&W sharing the mall with sub-sanctuary Jimmy John's. Taco Fresco and Samurai Sam's proffer healthy options with a focus on fresh ingredients and alternative preparation methods to cut unnecessary calories. The Great Steak and Potato Company has hearty fare in a hurry, but if you just need a nosh, go with either Auntie Anne's or Wetzel's Pretzels, with both showcasing soft and warm flavored versions of the classic German twisted-bread morsel.
Dessert is another meal altogether with the options at Woodfield. Chill Bubble Tea offers the tapioca treat, while Yogen Fruz serves pro-biotic yogurt with fresh fruit toppings. Candy World lets you take home your treats with bags of jelly beans, gummy bears and other delectable sweets. Ladies, look to Godiva for chocolate gift boxes to sate any cravings, or stop by Cold Stone to fulfill your ice cream fix.
Whatever the time of day or urge, Woodfield has a restaurant or shop to fill you up; it's just an added bonus that there are also hundreds of stores to browse through between mealtimes.
