Woodfield Mall Shopping

Fashion is no stranger to the likes of Woodfield, and every age group has something to suit them. Toddlers and tykes have Janie and Jack and Hanna Anderson to carry them from their days of recess and bug-exploration to adolescence. For the 'tweens and teens, there are three Abercrombie-brand stores, including abercrombie, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Ruehl, in addition to American Eagle and their female-focused offshoot aerie. The grown-up demographic has the department stores to revel in, with JC Penney, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Sears and Macy's covering just about every need any human may have for housewares, clothing or bedding, while Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers "346," J.Crew, Cole Haan, Lacoste, Urban Outfitters, Express, Vans Triple Crown, Anthropologie, J.Jill, and Ann Taylor serve to push sartorial selection to near-ridiculous capacity. If you wear clothes, at least one store in Woodfield will please you.

If there's one thing that dwarfs the clothing selection, though, it's the jewelry stores. There are more than 25 jewelry stores in total, with specialty stores like Na Hoku, a Hawaiian jewelry outlet, and Anahi, an Ametrine haven, or more traditional stores like Bailey, Banks & Biddle making timeless pieces that can be passed down from generation to generation, and C.D. Peacock, Chicago's oldest jeweler, in Woodfield. If you have a loved one you need to propose (or apologize) to, Woodfield can help you out.

Don't let the comprehensiveness of the clothing and jewelry fool you, though; Woodfield is not a one or two-trick pony. Lesser known specialty stores also have bungalows among the skybridges. Any tea-drinker will be overwhelmed at Teavana, a family-owned company obsessed with tea and tea-making accessories, including specialty honey, cast-iron teapots and books on the subject. Tea-newbie or seasoned drinker alike should check it out, if only for the aromas that waft around the storefront. Gamers of all ilks should wander over to Gamers Paradise, which houses board-games, darts, table-top RPGs, and probably the largest collection of themed-Monopoly editions in the Midwest. Club Libby Lu offers your little princess the place to be pampered, specializing in makeovers for 5-12 year old girls, and Everything But Water tenders specialty swimsuits for women, offering employee fit specialists and an array of sizes.

With such a host of stores, it's easy to spend a considerable amount of time at Woodfield; luckily, hunger won't slow you down, as the food is as delicious as it is varied. Sushi snackers can get their fill at Todai Seafood Buffet, while burger devotees can gobble down Red Robin, or enjoy the scenery at the Rainforest Cafe.  If you're not in the mood for a full meal, fear not, because Woodfield has a more than ample snacking selection, with Mrs. Fields, Auntie Anne's, Candy World, Chicago Smoothies and Ice Cream, A&W All-American Food, and numerous other sweet or salty concoctions to please your palate.

Getting There
From the Loop, take I-290 West to I-90. On I-53, exit south to Woodfield Road. Public transportation can get you to the mall easily. Just take the CTA Blue Line to Rosemont, then transfer to Pace Bus #606 to Woodfield Mall.
