When his dictionary-loving teacher Mrs. Granger talks to the class about the origin of words, fifth-grader Nick Allen decides to create a new word of his own: “frindle.” But when the new word causes controversy between students, teachers and parents, an imaginative and humorous battle of words and wits follows.
