Barilla and local chefs will give demonstrations using fresh Italian ingredients such as those found in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden during the Barilla Italian Cooking Weekend on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27. This event features plant and recipe giveaways, family activities, gourmet olive oil, balsamic vinegar and pasta tastings, and more.
The chef demonstration schedule includes pasta demonstrations on Saturday, July 26 at 10 a.m. by Doug D'Avico of Trattoria No. 10 in Chicago, at 1 p.m. by Rob Levitt of Mado in Chicago and at 4 p.m. by Lorenzo Boni of Barilla America. Pasta demonstrations on Sunday, July 27 are at 1 p.m. by Massimo Salatino of Francesca's in Northbrook and at 4 p.m. by Lorenzo Boni of Barilla America. Mario Rizzotti, Italian Culinary Specialist with Academia Barilla will be presenting a program and tasting with balsamic vinegar and olive oil at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on both days. The Barilla Italian Cooking Weekend is presented by Barilla. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission to the Chicago Botanic Garden is free, however there is a fee to park (schedule follows). Members park free.
Parking Fees
$15 per car (including tax)
$7 for senior citizens on Tuesdays (including tax)
$25 per van (including tax)
$60 per limousine, minibus, bus & RV (including tax)
