Taste fine wines and brews in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden during Grapes & Hops, Wednesdays, July 23, 30, August 13, 27 and September 3. Guests can stroll through an arbor covered with red and white grape vines and sample both beer and wine. Professionals will be available to share their knowledge of what to look for when choosing beer or wine. Chefs will demonstrate creative ways to incorporate or pair the tasted beverages with food. Complimentary light fare will be provided, including cheese, crackers and vegetable crudités.
On July 23 and August 27, Executive Chef Colin Crowley of Terlato Wines International will give a cooking demonstration, provided by Sanford Winery. On July 9 and 30, August 13 and September 3, Dawn Dlugosz and Isabel O'Neil from Whole Foods will give a cooking demonstration, provided by Whole Foods.
Hours are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $10; Chicago Botanic Garden members pay $8. Visitors must be 21 or older to attend. Free admission to designated drivers. Tickets are available now at the Visitor Center Information Desk and online. Ticket packages are available at four evenings for $32 and six evenings for $48. Tickets are nonrefundable and may not be exchanged. This event is held rain or shine.
Parking is $15; free for Garden members. The Chicago Botanic Garden Trolley will operate between the Garden and the Glencoe Metra station during event hours. Roundtrip tickets are $2; Garden members and children 5 and under ride free.
