The Chicago summer is about to get even hotter with the arrival of legendary international singing sensation Tony Clifton and his sizzling babes.
Backed by a ripping band, the Katrina Kiss-My-Ass Orchestra, this concert happening includes over 20 musicians, backup singers and Tony’s Cliftonettes, jaw-dropping burlesque dancers, in the intimate surroundings of the Chopin Theatre.
Tony Clifton is best known as the protégé of Andy Kaufman and co-star of the Jim Carrey film “Man on the Moon.” Anything can happen at a Clifton show, especially if he’s drinking. Speaking of drinking, it’s okay to BYOB. Tony will supply the ice.
The Chopin Theatre is located at 1543 W. Division St., in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10:00 p.m. (doors open at 9:00 p.m.), and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.). Ticket prices are only $15 advance, $20 at the door (all going to charity). Purchase tickets online at www.TonyClifton.net, www.FrontgateTickets.com, or by phone at 1-888-512-SHOW (7469).
By mounting this production, Comic Relief continues its commitment to support artists affected by Hurricane Katrina. The Katrina Kiss-My-Ass Orchestra is comprised of New Orleans and Gulf Coast musicians, singers, dancers and production personnel.
In 2007, Comic Relief donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to New Orleans housing rehabilitation. It is also supporting ongoing efforts to help displaced Katrina animals and support animal rescue operations in times of natural disaster.
