The Pediatric Cancer Toy Drive, taking place at Crobar, will feature an evening of dancing, silent auctions, fare from Old Town’s new restaurant Eivissa Pinxtos, Tapas and Sangria Restaurant (opening soon) and Connie's Pizza, in addition to complimentary cocktails. Food will be served from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m. and complimentary cocktails from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The annual event has been planned by Bradley Pogofsky, Organizer, and Joseph DiPiazza, Co-Organizer. This year, the event is expected to draw well over 700 people for a worthy cause. Several local leaders, celebrities, restaurateurs, nightlife personalities and members of the media are expected to be present. Members of the Chicago White Sox, who contributed immensely last year, will also be in attendance.

The idea is simple: each guest is required to bring a new, unwrapped toy to enter. Last year’s event was a huge success with hundreds of attendees, $4,400 dollars raised from the silent auction and 2,800 toys were collected and delivered to Children’s Memorial Hospital. This year, all toys will benefit children being treated for cancer at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Comer Children’s Hospital and other hospitals. Ty Beanie Babies has donated 1,000 Beanie Babies and Zizzle Toys has donated 1,000 hand held electronic games.

All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit Imerman Angels, a one-on-one cancer support service that partners a person fighting cancer (the "fighter") with someone who's beaten the same type of cancer (the "survivor").
