Located in Andersonville in a 24,000 square foot, three story building, The Museum was opened in 1976 has been in its current location for almost 20 years.

Permanent exhibits include The Dream of America: Swedish Immigration to Chicago and contains art and artifacts from the mass immigration of Swedes to the Chicago area beginning 150 years ago.

The third floor houses the Children’s Museum of Immigration, a hands-on, interactive journey through history for ages three to 12.

There's also a Museum Store that boasts Swedish and Swedish-American handcrafted gifts including Orrefors and Kosta Boda, glass, linens, jewelry, Swedish books and CDs, toys, and more.

Museum and Museum Store
Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Children’s Museum of Immigration
Tuesday – Friday: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
