This neighborhood spot, which has been serving up baby back ribs since 1963, is conveniently located right across the street from the Jefferson Park Commuter Station, a stop for the both the C.T.A.'s Blue Line and Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line. The dry-rubbed baby backs, which are oven-roasted, are served with the Gale Street's signature sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. Other menu items include grilled salmon, country-style pork chops and chicken rosemary, plus a handful of Cajun items like jambalaya. Head here on Sunday for the "Big Easy" brunch buffet (the regular menu is also offered after 12 p.m.). Live music is featured six nights a week.
