Fornetto Mei (which means small oven) is located adjacent to the Whitehall Hotel, just steps off Michigan Avenue. The cozy, intimate dining room features French doors that open onto Delaware Place in the summer months. The focal point of the dining room is the beautiful wood-burning oven where the thin crust pizzas, like the red grape, Italian sausage and goat cheese are baked. The menu offers mostly Italian fare with a sprinkling of Asian dishes; recent offerings included a seared striped sea bass with rapini and a short rib and scallop risotto.
