The creative theater masterpieces performed at the Theater on the Lake each summer for the last 56 years attract a diverse crowd of art appreciators. Eight plays are performed over a period of eight weeks every Wednesday through Sunday from early June until early August. Take in the striking sight of Lake Michigan at night while enjoying contemporary plays put on by esteemed theater troupes.

The 2008 Theater on the Lake season opens on June 11 and runs through August 3. Individual tickets cost $17.50 and tickets to all eight plays for true theater buffs are sold at a discounted rate of $110 at the box office located at Fullerton Ave. and Lake Michigan. Plays begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Parking is available at the Lincoln Park Zoo, but it is also recommended to use public transportation for a more convenient visit to the theater. The low ticket prices allow the whole family to experience the wonders of these original performances.
