Karma is a pan-Asian restaurant in Chicago's north suburb of Mundelein.

 

Full Details:

Stepping into Karma is like stepping into a Zen-laced union of the
past, present and future. Elegance and sophistication seeps from the
unique and ultra chic décor. The host stand features glowing green
bamboo sticks made from blown glass and illuminated with fiber-
optic cables. The dining room is completed with cone-shaped glass
replicas of salt harvesting and a majestic gentle waterfall that
enhances the Pan-Asian dining experience. Karma’s smooth black
bar top and contemporary low-backed black bar seats offer a view of
the restaurant’s serene atmosphere. The wooden tables in the dining
room are adorned with both Western flatware and stainless steel
chopsticks.

The menu provides breakfast, lunch and dinner guests with distinct
Pan-Asian cuisine fused into one delicious package.

BREAKFAST MENU:
Start the day off with one of Karma’s delicious breakfast items including Oatmeal (with cinnamon, brown sugar and milk, $5), Assorted Fresh Fruit Platter with Yogurt ($8.50) and Fresh Strawberry Mango Breakfast Cobbler (served with warm ginger cream, $9). For a larger dish, Karma offers many appetizing choices including the Plaza Breakfast (two eggs, your style, pepper bacon and buttermilk biscuits with country gravy, $9), Ginger Creme French Toast (with cinnamon and warm maple syrup $7), and Wood Smoked Salmon (served with sliced red onion, tomato, cream cheese and toasted bagel, $10). The
breakfast menu also features a wide selection of egg or egg white
omelets that are made to order and traditional favorites such as
waffles, pancakes and fresh eggs.

LUNCH MENU:
Acclaimed lunchtime appetizers include Karma’s mouth-watering Chicken Spring Rolls (with Chili Pepper Black Vinegar Dip, $7), Hawaiian Panko Crab Cakes (with Pineapple Almond Salsa and Ginger Tobiko Butter, $9), Sugarcane Seared Scallops (served with Forbidden Black Rice, Pickled Broccoli and Asian Lime Chili Sauce, $11), Sticky Five Spice & Honey Glazed Spare Ribs (with Sweet Potato Matchsticks, $9), and Shiitake Mushroom Potstickers (with Miso Tamari Dip, $8).

Salads at Karma are always an excellent choice. They include Crackling Calamari Salad (with Boston Lettuce, Raddichio, Frisee and Hot Chili Oil Dressing, $11), Karma House Salad (with Crisp Lettuce, Napa Cabbage, Cucumber, Daikon and Carrot Ginger Dressing, $5), Thai Peanut Noodle Salad (with sweet and sour cucumbers, sesame peanut dressing, and bean sprouts, $6), Chinese Chopped Chicken Salad (Mixed Greens, Asian Pear, Daikon, Cucumber, Candied Cashews, Crispy Wonton, Yuzu and Tamari Vinaigrette, $11), and Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna Salad (Mixed Greens, Orange Segments, Red Onion,
Shredded Carrot, Crispy Wonton, Sesame Ginger Vinigraitte, $13).

DINNER MENU:
Spoil your five senses with the astounding main entrées on the regular menu that include Orange Peel Tempura Chicken (Sesame Jasmine Rice, Ginger Chili Cucumber Salad, Yuzu Orange Glaze, $15), Chicken Pad Thai Rice Noodles (Chopped Peanuts, Tofu, Fried Egg, Sweet Tamarind Sauce, Bean Sprouts, Cilantro, Fresh Lime, $14), Seared Breast of Peking Duck (Duck Confit, Moo Shu Crepe, Raspberry & Thai Chili Sauce, $19), Charcoal Grilled N.Y. Strip (Crispy Scallion Noodle Cake, Shiitake Mushrooms, Chili Garlic Sauce, $25), Macadamia Nut &
Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon (with Wasabi Thai Basil Mashed Potatoes, Tempura Maui Onions, Shitake Mushroom Sauce and Edamame Coulis, $29), Mongolian Rack of Lamb (with Sweet Potato Puree and Crisps, Asian Pear & Sunflower Sprout Slaw, Yuzu Vinaigrette, $27), and Shrimp Pad Thai Rice Noodles (with Chopped Peanuts, Tofu, Fried Egg, Sweet Tamarind Sauce, Bean Sprouts, Cilantro, Fresh Lime, $16).

DRINK MENU:
Karma’s drink menu features several Asian-inspired martinis including the Asian Pear Mojito, Pom Margarita, and Karma Kolada. Karma also has a vast selection of wines offered by the glass and the bottle. Their white wines include Chardonnay (Alamos, Argentina, $31), Chardonnay (Sanford & Benedict, Au Bon Climat, Santa Barbara, $47), Pinot Grigio (Wild Horse, San Luis Obispo, $33) and Albarino (Lusco, Rias Baixas, $42).

The red wines served at Karma include Pinot Noir (Robert Sinskey, Napa, $54), Shiraz (Omrah, Piantaganet, Mt. Barker, Australia, $37) and a robust red, Malbec (Alamos, Argentina, $31). Karma also offers several bottles of champagne such as Brut (Argyle, Oregon, $36) and Blanc de Blanc (Schramsberg, Napa, $57).

Karma’s drink menu features three traditional sakes, Sho Chiku Bai (Nama Sake, $5), Ozeki (California Sake, price range from $4-$15) and Shochu Yokaichi Mugi (Barley Sake, price range from $7-$31) as well as several Infused Sakes including Ruby, Pearl and Raspberry (price range from $5-$18).
