Covering a full 15,000 square feet - Durty Nellie's is an Irish pub, a rock venue, a dance club, a rooftop bar, and a beer garden all rolled into one.
Durty Nellie's is named after a centuries-old Irish pub, where a salty barmaid, the original "Durty Nellie" was said to dunk dead mice into the pints of difficult patrons. The far-far friendlier American incarnation of the tavern was born in 1972 and had a distinctively Irish feel. Today, the bar is much less traditional, with a menu features some tIrish fare, such as "Gaelic Fish and Chips" and "Guiness Pot Roast," but is mostly dominated by such worldly bar delights as "Yucatan Pasta" - a Mexican shrimp-and-chorizo dish served atop fettuccini - and "BBQ Chicken Tacos."
The music at Durty Nellie's is nothing if not eclectic. Durty Nellie's back room features live music from local and national acts - everything from Cowboy Mouth to a Guns-n-Roses tribute band. The venue also features a separate DJ dance club, open until 4:00 a.m.
Durty Nellie's has a respectable selection of craft beers, which may be sampled in one of the venue's beer gardens or in the rooftop terrace.
