A perennial favorite when it comes to the highly-charged, affluent nightlife scene in the Gold Coast neighborhood, The Whiskey Bar has been packing them in for years, but a recent re-design has juiced up the ambience here, while all-star chef Richard Sandoval brings his Latin cuisine to Chicago (he operates Pampano and Maya in NYC). The restaurant decor reminds one of a Latin-themed Mardi Gras thing, but the food is pure authentic Latino cuisine. The beef tenderloin skewers are amazing; the guacamole is good, but not the best thing on the menu.
