Description
Launched by Mayor Richard M. Daley in September, 2010, One Good Deed Chicago is a City-wide campaign promoting volunteerism, community service and furthering civic engagement by citizens. The initiative will initially focus on supporting not-for-profit organizations engaged in developing out-of-school programs for young people, and helping residents most affected by the economic recession get back on track. This unique initiative is supported by a two-year "Cities of Service Leadership Grant" from the Rockefeller Foundation.
Learn more about how you can get involved in this important endeavor by visiting www.OneGoodDeedChicago.org and reviewing the Blueprint for Service, which is available for download as a PDF. Residents without regular access to the internet can learn about volunteer opportunities by calling the City's existing 3-1-1 phone line.
