Pizano's is a relative newcomer to the Chicago pizza scene -- they opened in 1999 -- the Malnati family has been involved with the pizza business since 1943. The crispy pizza crust is still made daily by Donna Malnati -- she's the keeper of the family recipe. Pizano's deep-dish pies come stuffed with house-made pizza sauce, sliced (not shredded) mozzarella, and their slightly spicy custom-made Italian sausage.
