<p>Situated atop the aptly named Art Hill in Forest Park, admittance to the Saint Louis Art Museum is free. The first museum west of the Mississippi, the Art Museum houses a <a href="http://slam.org/index.aspx?id=4" target="_blank">comprehensive collection</a> that impressively spans nearly every culture, era, and discipline. </p><p>Visitors can leisurely stroll the beautifully adorned halls, gaze upon Monet's Water Lilies, get lost among the abstract expressionists, and travel to prehistory through the mummy Amen-Nestawy-Nakht. </p><p>The Museum also offers <a href="http://slam.org/index.aspx?id=67" target="_blank">traveling exhibitions</a>, intriguing special <a href="http://saintlouis.art.museum/calendar.php" target="_blank">events</a>, free family art projects on Sundays, Wolfgang Puck's artfully crafted gourmet restaurant, <a href="/directories/show/1495-">Puck's</a>, and much more.
