A AAA-rated eatery, the Shrine restaurant has been serving guests lunch and dinner since 1960, offering homemade soups, a salad bar, and an award-winning Sunday brunch. Reasonable prices and a variety of delicious food, including pasta, stir fry, and fried chicken set this restaurant miles above other banquet-style servers, but the true treats are the special menus.
Oktoberfest comes to Illinois with the Germanfest options available at the Shrine restaurant Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm-closing. Serving up bratwurst, sauerbraten, potato salad, and Schwein Schnitzel, these hearty meals feed the stomach as well as the grounds feed the soul. There's never a lull in mealtime since from 2-4pm there's a special mini-menu offering sandwiches and snacks. Couple Germanfest and the mini-menus with the Sunday brunch and Sunday night Chicken menu, and you'll never go hungry (or get a repeat dish) while basking in the glory of nature at the Shrine.
