Lincoln Park Zoo, located in Chicago, is among the oldest zoological gardens in the country (established in 1868) and is also among the most modern. Generations of Chicago kids and visitors to the city alike take the time to stand face to face with apes and even go palm-to-palm with them through the glass. Human-to-animal interaction is mixed with the heavily scientific- and research-based initiatives here.

A premier Chicago attraction, Lincoln Park Zoo each year welcomes more than three million visitors, providing them with remarkable educational experiences as well as fun and enjoyment.
Besides widely varied and well situated animal viewing, the zoo features a well-run food court with everything from pizza to Mexican and a serious ice cream bar when the weather is warm enough.
Did we mention that Lincoln Park Zoo is free?!!! Some things are too good to be true, after all.
General Hours:
Grounds 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Buildings and Farm 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Summer Weekends:
Memorial Day—Labor Day (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
Grounds open until 7 p.m.
Buildings and Farm open until 6:30 p.m.
