The Underground
The Underground is late-night dance spot offering a constantly changing line-up of talent from DJ's to Hip Hop performers and you never know what. It's one of the likeliest spots to catch a high-toned celebrity in Chicago (from David Beckham to classic acts like the Sugar Hill Gang).
The decor here recalls a futuristic underground bunker complex-like feel except that the steady wave of beautiful people lends a more positive note to the ambience.
Rockit Ranch Productions became famous for its glitzy, trendy downtown bar Rockit. The Underground, opened in 2007, builds off Rockit's success. Catering to the see-and-be-seen crowd, The Underground has no sign marking its location and is nestled away in an unmarked alley, with bouncers in military fatigues, sexy staff in tight kakhi, and a long line of club-goers crowding the door.
Featuring a decor that's an unusual mix of bomb shelter and espionage headquarters, The Underground has worked hard to maintain its hip facade as the place where Chicago's beatuiful people hang out. In addition to a long list of cocktails with military-inspired names, The Underground offers a menu of bar comfort food such as kobe beef sliders, offered until 3:00 a.m.
9:00 p.m.- 4:00 a.m. Thursday and Friday; 9:00 p.m.- 5:00 a.m. Saturday; closed Sunday through Wednesday.
Cover varies up to $20 and entrance is never guaranteed.
